Music Theory
Music Theory is a course designed to serve three groups of students:
This class covers the fundamental rudiments of music, common terminology, chord structure, score study, and sight-singing, as well as basic music composition and arranging. Composition recitals are held in early May to showcase original pieces written by our student composers.
It is the music program's goal for this course to become AP certified in the near future.
- Those who plan on pursuing music composition or songwriting as a career,
- Those who plan on pursuing general music at the collegiate level, and
- Those who wish to enhance their understanding of music beyond the other listed course offerings.
